How did you get the dark sky behind the tree and house? exposure?

It was purely by accident. I was using a Canon DSLR and played around with the shutter speed. So it was a fast shutter speed and it let very little light in. Hence the foreground and sky remained dark and lit the sun up beautifully, so I thought but the exposure kept focus

How did you get that photo with the sun behind a house and trees and the deep magenta sky. Did you twiddle the exposure?
